Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Government of India

The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme is the world’s largest community-based early childhood programme. Launched in 1975, it aims to provide holistic development for children under six years of age, pregnant and lactating mothers, and women through services such as nutrition, healthcare, immunisation, preschool education, and referral support.

Having previously collaborated with ICDS Maharashtra, BMRRC now works closely with ICDS Tamil Nadu to train personnel at all levels on its holistic Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) programme. This partnership focuses on enhancing the capacity of ICDS staff to better support child development through integrated approaches.
