Bala Mandir hosts a series of seminars and conferences aimed at advancing Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD). These events facilitate networking with national and international partners while sharing and enhancing knowledge on ECCD policies, best practices, and programmes. Additionally, they aim to strengthen advocacy for holistic and inclusive ECCD for all marginalised children.

BMRF has hosted a series of ‘Learning Through Play’ conferences that have grown in stature, reflecting the program’s expanding reach across India and the region. Since 2011, in light of our focus on early childhood care and development (ECCD), we have continued to organize seminars, workshops, and conferences dedicated to sharing and enhancing knowledge of ECCD policies, programs, and practices, while strengthening advocacy for holistic and inclusive ECCD.
S. Manjubhashini Memorial Seminar Series
Smt. Manjubhashini, the founder of Bala Mandir, was a cornerstone of the organisation and a guiding spirit whose leadership profoundly impacted the lives of countless children in need. The happiness of the Bala Mandir children stands as a testament to the remarkable achievements of a dedicated and capable administrator.
In honour of Smt. Manjubhashini’s legacy, BMRF has conducted an annual topical seminar series from 1999 to 2024, focusing on child welfare.
These seminars served to further her vision and commitment to the well-being of marginalised children, fostering dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in the field.
Celebrating Dr. Anandalakhmy - Conversations on Education Series
Launched in 2024, the “Conversations on Education” seminar series honours Dr. Anandalakshmy, a towering figure in the field of Education and Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD).
As a dedicated member and President of BMRF from 1998 to 2017, and later as Trustee and President of the Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust until her passing in 2019, she made invaluable contributions to Bala Mandir and the broader educational landscape.
Dr. Anandalakshmy’s legacy continues through these seminars, which are designed to perpetuate her knowledge and expertise in education and child development, benefiting marginalised communities.
